We ensure that we produce safe products for our customers and remain in the forefront of sustainability. AccountabilityThe Senior Research & Developer (R&D) is accountable to:? Ally with the Product Manager to drive the material supply chain to achieve company strategic goals? Establish method & routine to secure the best component deal (includes fabric/treatment/trims, etc.)? Secure newness according to seasonal trends and communicate well with the Buying Office and merchandiser team? Cooperate with the senior merchandiser team to proactively work on and seek potential business opportunities? Cooperate with the senior quality assurance team and material team to secure quality for production? Motivate, support & educate the POD/R&D team in accordance with company goals/routinesMain ResponsibilitiesTrends & Fashion? Lead the POD/R&D to interpret trends in regard to new materials & products with suitable suppliers? Identify trend sourcing gaps for the Material team, Innovation team regarding new materials or seasonal materials, etc.? Secure material newness and sell actively to the Buying Office? Make sure that trends and concepts are clear to the supplier chain, merchandising team and related function team? Work with suppliers to secure material quality based on H&M’s standards Develop Material & Support Product Development? Identify & develop new material (includes fabric, yarn, components)/treatment/trims? Ensure that material suppliers’ capability is aligned with the long-term strategic plan? Drive top-quality bookings and initiate potential business opportunities by coordinating with the Buying Office and senior merchandiser? Ensure that the best component deals are given to our customers? Establish working methods to reach the best component dealsCommunication and Cooperation? Be a good role model/an H&M leader and work on building the team into a top performing team? Supervise communication with buyers/designers and suppliers? Work closely with the Senior merchandiser team, Senior Quality Assurance team, Material team and Innovation team to ensure the best product? Collaborate on common goals as relevant with the Material team/Buyer, Product Developer, Merchandising team, Sustainability and Quality teams? Evaluate and identify talents through dialogue. Make sure that all staff will develop and grow by giving and receiving feedback? Have a general overview of POD/ R&Ds’ work performance, workload and their need for education and support? Identify capability gaps (current and future) and work towards bridging these gaps through performance management, staff development, strategic recruitment, etc? Your responsibility is to lead your team by example, always driven by our values and the ambition to make people and business grow? As an H&M leader you should focus on inspiration, delegation, feedback and motivation (other elements of leadership are further described in the competencies relevant to your role)Cooperation with Other Teams? Ensure that the team works with other depts. to secure the best product for bulk production? Create good dialogue with buyers/section managers in the Buying Office or Purchase Responsible at the GPO? Encourage the team to take more business decisions in ProductionCooperation with H&M’s Suppliers? Regularly communicate to identify supplier strengths, and give and receive feedback to improve performance? Good knowledge of H&M’s suppliers’ price, quality, capability and lead time?
